Self-worth is NOT based on performance. It's not what you do that gives yourself a particular value or position or what not. You don't have to go out of your way and try so hard just to do something great and incredible in order to earn the nod of agreement or acceptance or whatever shit from others. Why should you give a damn to how people look at you? Everyone has their own opinion and besides, surely you can't make everybody to like you, right? It's pointless to do stuff just for the recognition of others. You don't have to specially do things to please people. What matters the most is your desire, what you really want to achieve, not because of any other external reasons, but because you want to do it for yourself, you feel good when you attain that specific standard or reach that goal you've set for yourself. Anyway, it isn't as if you have to get some noble, superior to prove that you're worthy to be loved! I'm 101% sure that those who love you will love you as who you are. They won't love you less when you suffer a setback or failed to achieve something, nor will they love you more because you've managed to match their expectations of you. People who truly care and are concerned about your well-being, will take you as you are and appreciate you for all your faults, quirks and basically your whole person. All because you are who you are and they love you! (:
